Today was our last full day here at the residency. I cleaned out all of my art stuff from the studio and packed it up. I was able to fit Medusa into my art suitcase. I decided to strip her tail skin off and take home with me. I wasn’t happy with how her tail tuned out so I can re-create it at home and then add the crochet skin back on. Her torso & head fit nicely in my case. I can’t imagine how that looks going through the luggage scanner at the airport! Lol. After I get home, I will continue to work on her and do updates on the blog. It just won’t be in Iceland.

My roomy Kattrin was able to get the same sweater as I got from the wonderful (Stina!). She was so excited. Stina made this amazing sweater in 1 week! Now, whenever I wear my sweater, I can think of Kattrin. We are planning on doing other art residencies together hopefully every year.  🙂

We also went to the swimming pool and hung out there for hours. It was the warmest, sunniest day we’ve had yet. I was definitely a prune by the time we left.

Tomorrow we leave and say our goodbyes and Kelsey and I will head to Reykjavik. It’s sad to leave such wonderful, new artist friends. I hope we all keep in touch and actually do visit each other in the future. Some people are special and that connection should be kept.
